The MIABC’s annual Risk Management Conference is held each spring and is open to all staff of MIABC members, partners, First Nation and non-member local governments. The conference provides an overview of the basic tenets of risk management, as well as presentations and workshops on more advanced topics. The conference serves as a platform for gathering and exchanging knowledge, featuring a deliberately diverse agenda covering a wide range of topics, from technical, department-specific information to more universal themes.
Best of all, it provides an excellent networking opportunity for attendees to make connections and socialize with their counterparts from other regions.
Pre-Conference Workshop - Building Resilience: Business Continuity Planning for Local Governments

Location: MIABC Office, 200-429 West 2nd Avenue, Vancouver
Sign up for an optional pre-conference workshop to join Clive for an engaging overview on business continuity leading practices and program lifecycle. He will lead discussions on implementation opportunities, challenges, and solutions.
You will receive pre-conference instructions to gather essential information and materials to bring with you.
Registration Period
Early bird registration runs from January 7, 2026 to February 13, 2026.
Regular registration runs from February 14, 2026 to March 27, 2026.

Staff of First Nations governments are eligible to register for the conference at the MIABC member rate.
Additional Miami Vice event tickets for guests can be purchased for $100 each.
Accommodation
A special rate of $289 plus tax per night is available at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre until Friday, February 27th or until the room block is sold out. Booking link will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
MIABC members can deduct the cost of their accommodation at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre directly from their Risk Management Grant account by selecting this option during conference registration.
Refund Policy
Attendees are eligible for a full refund up to and including Friday, March 27, 2026.

MIABC members may use funds from their Risk Management Grant account to pay for their conference registration.
