Starting Monday, September 13, 2021, proof of vaccination will be required in British Columbia to access some events, services, and businesses. But what does this mean for local governments and how should they be managing proof of vaccinations? Does it mean they have to manage vaccine status for user groups and renters? Should they be mandating that their staff are also vaccinated? And if not, why would it be OK for staff who don’t need to prove vaccination status, but deny access to services and facilities to those who are not vaccinated?

Join Megan Chorlton, the MIABC's Director of Member Services & General Counsel as she discusses these emerging issues with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority's Deputy Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Mark Lysyshyn, Carolyn MacEachern and Pam Costanzo of Young Anderson, and Rebecca Tunnacliffe, CEO of the BC Recreation and Parks Association.

In order to keep this session true to our Ask Us Anything sessions’ collaborative roots, we are inviting all participants to send us the questions or topics they want to see addressed in this webinar. This will help our panelists better focus their discussion to address the issues that matter most to your local government. While you can register for the webinar at any time, if you would like your question or topic to be considered for the discussion, please register by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and include your questions or topics in the applicable field of the registration form. Alternatively, you can email your questions to AskUsAnything@miabc.org.

This webinar is completely FREE to join for staff and elected officials of BC local governments and First Nations governments. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
