Non-Owned Automobile

A non-owned automobile term provides liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising out of the use of automobiles not owned by the insured, such as employees’ personal vehicles, rented vehicles, or vehicles used by a subcontractor. This coverage applies to damages to third parties, persons, or property but not damage to the vehicle itself. It is a good idea to request that your contractor/consultant carry this coverage if they will be using vehicles when carrying out the work under the contract.
