Samantha has an undergraduate degree from Queens University and is a graduate of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law. She was called to the B.C. bar in 2015 after completing her articles at a large regional full-service firm with a focus on insurance defence. Since that time, she has worked on the MIABC’s in-house legal team defending members on a wide variety of claims in the B.C. Provincial, Supreme, and Appeal Courts.
As Assistant General Counsel, Samantha continues to handle and defend member claims along with supporting the General Counsel in managing the legal team. In her role as the Manager of Strategic Innovation, she identifies and assesses new business opportunities and reports on new potential initiatives to the Executive Team. Samantha loves working on the MIABC team because it means she gets to collaborate with our wonderful membership to cultivate safe and thriving communities across the province.
