The MIABC is looking for two energetic, motivated, and career-minded insurance professionals to provide professional and technical service to our local government members. We are a member-owned non-profit insurance reciprocal that provides liability coverage to over 170 local governments in British Columbia, and property and ancillary coverage to over half of our members.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing quotes to members and potential members on their liability, property and ancillary insurance needs;
- Underwriting property coverage and marketing ancillary coverage;
- Answering queries on coverage needs and policy wordings;
- Assisting in the preparation of requests for proposals and developing new insurance products;
- Preparing binders and binding coverage for new and renewal policies; and
- Working with our Claims team to ensure the progress of property claims and provide updates to members.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 5 to 7 years of Commercial insurance experience;
- Level 2 BC Insurance License mandatory;
- Broad knowledge of insurance for local governments;
- An insurance designation (e.g., CAIB, CIP or CRM);
- MGA/underwriting experience
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills;
- Analytical skills; and
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay Range:
$70,528 - $88,160 depending on experience
