Sherman was born and raised in Vancouver and attended the University of British Columbia where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. He has been in the insurance industry for almost 35-years and the MIABC's Claims Manager since 2001. Sherman was the Director of Insurance for two years in order to the launch the Property Insurance Program before returning to the Claims Department as the Director of Claims. He is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), has a diploma in Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management (CRM), and is a licensed insurance broker.
